The seventh episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , entitled "Opportunity Arrives: Flowers of the Hedge", was broadcast on February 16th, and viewers were abuzz with the ominous atmosphere created by Tsuruya Kiemon (Kazama Shunsuke) towards the end of the episode.
In the seventh episode, Urokogataya (played by Kataoka Ainosuke) is arrested for counterfeiting. Not wanting to miss this opportunity, Tsutaju (played by Yokohama) makes a promise to be added to the group of local book wholesalers on the condition that he creates a Yoshiwara Sasami that sells twice as much as it does now.
Nishimuraya (Masahiko Nishimura), a long-established local book wholesaler, is not happy about this and sets up another Hosomi with Chugorou Koizumi (Okihito Serizawa), a book dealer in Asakusa, in an attempt to block Tsutaju's entry into the market.
Tsutaju kept revising the story until the very last moment before Hosomi's debut. Then Hananoi (played by Fuka Koshiba) appeared... and so the story unfolded.
Tsuruya, played by Kazama, is the leader of the "jihon wholesaler" in Edo city, which includes Urokogataya Magobei (played by Kataoka Ainosuke) and Nishimuraya Yohachi, and is in conflict with the newcomer Tsutaya Juzaburo. In addition to publishing many hit works in kusazoshi and nishiki-e, he also discovered and produced young talents such as Santokyoden, and created an era together with Tsutaya. He is a "large jihon wholesaler with ties to Kyoto."
Towards the end, the wholesalers of the book are excited when they find the name "Segawa" in Tsutaju's narrow book. Moreover, with the book being thin, listing all the brothels, and being half the price, Nishimuraya has no chance of winning, and even Tsuruya has no choice but to admit that "it might sell twice as much."
However, next to Nishimuraya, who looked disappointed, Tsuruya muttered meaningfully, "We might be able to sell twice as much..." as Tsutae's Yoshiwara Hosomi was shown in close-up.
On social media, viewers responded with comments such as, "Oh, something ominous?", "It might sell," "Tsuruya-san's eyes are scary...," "It might sell, but wow, it's scary." Comments such as, "What I got out of it is that this time Kazama Shunsuke is the bad Kazama Shunsuke," "The way they used Kazama Shunsuke is amazing," and "Kazama Shunsuke has a wide range of roles from good to bad in each work, but in this one he didn't seem to be a good person (to the main character)" were also posted.
