"Shinjuku Anime Song Scope" is a website where Sho Higuchi, the anime buyer at Tower Records Shinjuku, known for its extensive selection of anime songs, shares best-selling anime songs and real-life opinions from the sales floor. The number one album at the store from August 3rd to 10th was "Ageratum," the first album by the TV anime "Maebashi Witches."
◇Last week's results
"Maebashi Witches " is an original anime set in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, depicting the growth of five high school students aspiring to become witches, and aired from April to June. The album "Ageratum," which reached number one, includes the opening theme "Sugosugi Maebashi Witches !" sung by the idol unit " Maebashi Witches, " made up of the voice actors who play the main characters in the anime, as well as full-length insert songs from episodes 1 to 8. Four new original songs are also included.
Coming in second place is the seventh single "Oran'in" by MyGO!!!!!, the all-girls band from the popular anime and game franchise BanG Dream!. In addition to the title track "Oran'in," which is the symbol of their live tour "MyGO!!!!! ZEPP TOUR 2025 'Following the Edge of the Heart'," the single also includes "Zankoji," the ending theme for the TV anime "Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Deluxe Finals," as a coupling track.
In third place was Tennoji Rina's "SUMMER WARNING," released as the August single for "NIJIGAKU Monthly Songs♪," a new song production project for " Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club," part of the popular anime series "Love Live! Live!". In fourth place was "THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS "Halo around" 03," the third release in the CD series "THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS "Halo around"," based on the smartphone browser game "THE IDOLM@STER SHINY COLORS (Shinimas)."
"End of Days," the opening theme song for the TV anime "Arknights [RISE FROM EMBER]," sung by singer ReoNa, ranked 10th.

Higuchi Sho is a buyer in charge of anime at Tower Records Shinjuku's 7th floor (Japanese music and sales promotion). He was transferred from the Machida store in 2014. He first became interested in anime through 1990s works such as "Neon Genesis Evangelion," "BLUE SEED," and "VS Knight Ramune & 40 Flames," and among anime songs, he loves listening to character songs, especially those related to idol anime. His favorite anthem is "Up! 10sion Pleeeeeeeeease!" from "The Idolmaster Million Live!" His favorite anime and games include "Pretty Rhythm," "The Idolmaster," "Photo Kano," and "Sakura Wars."
