The fourth episode of the Sunday Theatre drama " Mikami Sensei " (TBS, Sunday 9pm) starring actor Tori Matsuzaka was broadcast on February 9th. There was a scene where two former brass band members, Sakurai ( Riko Nagase) and Shinonome (Juri Kosaka), students from class 3-2, debated, which became a hot topic on social media.

"We're thinking of doing an independent project for the upcoming Rintoku Festival." Shinonome proposed to her classmates in class 3-2 that they do an exhibition about "textbook certification." As a rule, third-year students are not supposed to participate in the Rintoku Festival and are supposed to study on their own, Sakurai was against it, saying, "I don't think it's possible that (the school) would allow it."
Although the school initially gave permission for the exhibition, it appears that permission to use the classroom may be revoked on the grounds that anything highly political is inappropriate for a high school cultural festival.
Sakurai, who had been opposed to the exhibition from the beginning, commented, "It was only natural that it would be cancelled. When permission was first granted, I couldn't believe my ears."
Meanwhile, at the suggestion of Mikami (Matsuzaka), a debate was held on the topic of displaying textbooks at the school festival. Mikami nominated Sakurai for the pro side and Shinonome for the anti side.
Sakurai said, "I think there are people who don't even know that textbooks are screened, or that they are required to use them, and I don't think they know that there are only a few countries that screen textbooks. It is meaningful to know the origins of the things that form the basis of our learning. That's why I support the exhibition."
On the other hand, Shinonome said, "The reason the third-years aren't having a cultural festival in the first place is to allow them to focus on their entrance exams, but going ahead with it without the consent of the class is taking away the right of those who want to concentrate on their studies. That's why I'm against it."
Mikami, who had listened to the opinions of the two, was shown summarizing, "Those in favor were in favor from the perspective of the significance of the project, while those against were opposed because of the lack of consideration for those who want to learn and the sense of alienation that would be felt by those who do not participate. Can you see what needs to be done?"
On social media, people were saying things like, "Shinonome and Sakurai's debate was really good!", "My favorite scene this time was the debate between Sakurai and Shinonome", "It was a showdown between Sakurai and Shinonome, a former brass band member", "This debate was one of the best scenes that had us all watching with bated breath", and "The debate between Shinonome and Sakurai this time was especially worth watching."
