It was revealed on February 11th that Hori Natsuki of the dance and vocal group "FANTASTICS from EXILE TRIBE" and actress Tanabe Momoko will be co-starring in the romance drama series "You Are a Troublesome Fiancee," produced by TV Asahi and the video distribution service "TELASA." "Diamond Edition" will begin streaming on TELASA from noon on March 3rd, with a total of six episodes. "Platinum Edition," a special edited version of "Diamond Edition" with behind-the-scenes footage of the drama and comments from the cast, will be broadcast on TV Asahi from 1:30 a.m. on March 28th.
The drama is based on the popular manga (Hakusensha) of the same name by Midori Shiino and Monaka Usayama. It is a frustrating and heart-pounding love story about the office love between a high-spec elite employee and the daughter of a company president who are constantly at odds with each other.
Kajiya Shino (Tanabe), the daughter of the president of Kajiya Foods, a long-established Western confectionery manufacturer, and a member of the public relations department in her fourth year at the company, has a fiance whom her father, the president, arranged for an arranged marriage. Her fiance is Tachibana Hajime (Hori), the ace of the sales department at the same company. Appearance, personality, specs... her perfect fiance is flawless and has it all, but he is also someone who shakes Shino's emotions on a daily basis. Even after three years of their engagement, Tachibana still refuses to move on from kissing, and one day, a new employee, Hanazawa Yui, is assigned to the sales department. Shino sees Tachibana interacting with Yui as a supervisor, and from that day on, her heart begins to flutter... This is the story.
Hori, who plays Tachibana, said, "I haven't read much shoujo manga until now, but I was surprised at how heart-pounding it can be, and I was so overwhelmed that I nearly fainted (laughs). Each and every line sticks in your mind, and the two main characters are just so straightforward. I find that really appealing. I'll do my best to play my roles freely so that we can bring out the charm of the original work while also conveying the unique good points of the drama!"
Looking back on the visual shoot, Tanabe, who plays Shino, commented, "I wanted fans of the original work to enjoy it, so I wanted to make sure to include the elements of the manga. The script is very much in line with the original work, and it really takes great care to extract what it wants to convey, so I want to cherish that, and I hope that with Hori-san and myself playing Tachibana and Shino, a good chemical reaction will be created."
