It has been revealed that Megumi and Mirai Shida will be making new appearances in the upcoming episode 6 (to be broadcast on February 16th) of the TV drama series "The Hot Spot" (Nippon TV, Sunday 10:30pm), starring actress Mikako Ichikawa.
A new work by Bakarhythm, who wrote the script for the popular drama "Brush Up Life" (same station), and the production staff of the drama have reunited. Set in a town in Yamanashi Prefecture at the foot of Mount Fuji, the story begins when the main character, Kiyomi Endo (Ichikawa), a single mother who works at a business hotel, encounters an alien, creating a "local alien human comedy."
New appearances in episode 6 include Kiyomi's classmates from her hometown. Nostalgia and new human relationships intertwine, and a surprising incident unfolds! Megumi plays Kiyomi's classmate, Noriko Inamoto, the owner of the snack bar "Non." Shida plays Mizuki Manabe, an employee of the snack bar. This will be Megumi's first time participating in a Bakarhythm-scripted work since "Black Ten Women" (2016), and Shida's first time participating in a Bakarhythm-scripted work since "Brush Up Life" (2023).
Regarding her appearance, MEGUMI commented, "I've always been a big fan of Bakarhythm's work, which turns very real conversations into entertainment, so I'm honored to be able to participate. I couldn't be happier to be acting with all these talented people." Shida commented, "I really wanted to appear in The Hot Spot, so this job is like a reward. I'm very happy to be able to meet everyone on the Brush Up Life team again! I myself will be surprised by the developments, so please look forward to it."
