Actor Kohei Shoji received the Actors Seminar Award at the 2024 Elan d'or Awards, which recognizes actors and producers who have made outstanding contributions to film and TV dramas, and attended the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on February 6th.
The Actors Seminar Award is an award given to actors selected from among the participants of the Actors Seminar, a seminar organized by the Japan Film and Television Producers Association to discover and develop young actors. Shoji is currently appearing in the special effects drama "Kamen Rider Gavv" (TV Asahi) as Kamen Rider Vlam/Rakia Amarga. In the Super Sentai series "Mashin Sentai Kiramager" (2020-21), he plays Crystalia Takamichi/Kiramei Silver, and his "two major special effects regular appearances" are also a hot topic.
Shoji said, "As a participant in the workshop, I was hoping to learn at least one thing about acting. I am really happy that I was able to leave something behind in this tangible form. This goes for the work I am currently participating in, but I would like to continue to do my best with each work I come across in the future. At this point, just encountering the next work is a challenge in itself, but I would like to treat it as a challenge for myself and move forward at my own pace."
In addition to Shoji, the other recipients for the Actors Seminar Award were Sasaki Shiho, Tachibana Yuki, and Takeda Yumika.
