Yuka Sugai:Koki stars in the drama "True Beauty" as she becomes a rival in an extreme love affair with a "self-proclaimed queen"

It has been revealed that Yuka Sugai, a former member of the idol group Sakurazaka46, will appear in the movie "True Beauty" (directed by Kazunari Hoshino), starring Koki,. The film is a live-action adaptation of the popular Korean web manga "True Beauty," and Sugai will play Kawashima Ami, who becomes the love rival of the main character, Reina Tanigawa (Koki,).

Manami is Reina's classmate and Shun's (Watanabe Keisuke) childhood friend. She is wary of Reina's sudden intimacy with Shun, whom she secretly has feelings for, and becomes an aggressive love rival.

Sugai said, "I hope that viewers will be thrilled by the sight of this self-proclaimed queen, whose feelings for the person she loves lead to bold action. Personally, this will be my first and probably last time playing a student in a school movie. I savored every moment of this precious opportunity and gave my all in the performance."

Other new cast members have also been announced. Maruyama Rei will play Reina's older sister Tanigawa Reimi, and Okura Sorato will play her younger brother Tanigawa Reo. Miyama Karen will play Reina's best friend Majima Miho, and Fukao Amu will play Kumahara Airi. Additionally, Ishino Mako will play Reina's mother Mana, Miyazaki Tomu will play her father Hisashi, Sena Kurea will play Igarashi Yu's (Tsuna Hironaga) younger sister Igarashi Rin, and Owada Shinya will play Igarashi Soichiro, Yu's father and chairman of the large corporation "Rieto Group."

The movie "True Beauty" tells the story of a girl who changes her life through makeup in order to realize the person she wants to be, and pursues her love and dreams over a period of nine years from the age of 17 to 25. The first part, "True Beauty Before: High School Debut", will be released on March 20th, and the second part, "True Beauty After: Proposal", will be released on May 1st.
