83-year-old actress Fumie Kashiyama will be appearing on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 p.m. on January 29th.
Her father was a university professor known for his research on German philosophers, and was strict with his upbringing. Her mother, on the other hand, was a unique person who would sometimes disappear from the house. She still talks about her memories of her parents, whom she describes as "the couple I admire."
It has been four years since her husband, actor Katsuhiko Watabiki, passed away. Since she had been living with her parents until they got married, this is the first time she has lived alone. Watabiki used to do the shopping and cleaning, but now she is "doing everything on my own." Meanwhile, her niece's family has moved in next door to her house. She says that her niece's 5-year-old daughter is a source of comfort to her.
