In the Asadora drama series "Anpan " (NHK General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Mio Imada , Motoki Omori of " Mrs. Green Apple " plays the role of Ise Takuya, who is modeled after the composer Izumi Takuya. The 99th episode, which aired on August 14th, depicted the rehearsals and performance of the musical for which Takuya was in charge of the music. Chief producer Ken Kurasaki, who is in charge of production, spoke about what goes on behind the scenes in this musical scene.
" Anpan" is based on the married couple Takashi Yanase(1919-2013), the manga artist and picture book author who created "Anpanman," and his wife, Nobu (1918-1993). It is a "story of love and courage" that will fill you with the joy of living, depicting how these two, who were once nobodys, overcame all sorts of rough seas to become "Anpanman," the embodiment of "unreversible justice."
Takuya Ise, played by Omori, has composed numerous music for commercials, movies, television, and radio plays. He also has a passion for musicals, composing over 15,000 songs in his lifetime. He was in charge of the music for the musical "Look Up at the Stars at Night," for which he was responsible, and when Takashi Yanai(Takumi Kitamura) was tasked with creating the stage art, Ise Takuya was tasked with composing the song "Te no Hira wo Taiyou ni," for which Takashi wrote the lyrics.
Kurazaki recalls, "On the day we were filming the musical scene, Izumi's relatives came to watch. They saw the scene with Omori playing Takuya Ise, and they were in tears when they saw it."
"The production team was relieved and deeply moved when relatives who lived close to Izumi-san told us, 'We're so glad that Omori-san was chosen for the role.' It seems they felt a sense of sympathy or commonality with Omori-san and Izumi-san, and we're really glad about that."
Omori, who acted in this scene, also commented, "As I faced and portrayed the character of Takuya Ise, I felt as if that was being acknowledged. I felt as if someone who was so close to Izumi Takuya Ise-sensei had acknowledged the way Isetakuya is, and I was overwhelmed with emotion. I was very happy."
