Aoi Okuyama, the actor who has been making waves in Amazon commercials and other media, will be starring in his first lead role in the October drama series "Scoop no Tamago" (TBS). He will play the main character, a rookie reporter who is transferred to a weekly magazine he didn't want to be involved with, and spends his days searching for gossip material.
Okuyama made her debut in the British Netflix and BBC drama "Giri/Haji" (2019). She has also appeared in "Ya Boy Kongming! " (Fuji TV, 2023) and made waves with her role in an Amazon commercial in which she played a woman who discovers her passion for cooking for herself. She then played Tomoezawa Chiharu, a young designer at the design firm where the protagonist, played by Yuki Sakurai , works in " Shiawase wa tabete nete mate " (NHK).
This live-action drama is based on the novel of the same name (Bunshun Bunko) by Osaki Kozue, known for her in-depth interviews with major weekly magazines. The protagonist, Hinata Shinoda (played by Okuyama), enjoys a fulfilling life as an editor in charge of a PR magazine. In her second year at the company, she is ordered to transfer to Weekly Sengoku, the weekly magazine she least wanted to be involved with. This work-related drama follows Hinata as she struggles to discover the meaning of the magazine's existence and her own answers while dealing with a variety of scoops, including entertainment news, embezzlement, and a suspicious death.
The drama series "Scoop no Tamago" will start late at night on October 7th and will be broadcast on TBS and other channels every Tuesday from 12:58 a.m.

The character I play, Shinoda Hinatako, is a rookie reporter for "Weekly Sengoku." What do weekly magazines mean to you? I'm sure many of you have a negative impression of them. I felt the same way when I started reading the book. But I was surprised to find myself rooting for Hinatako. It's okay to be negative at first. From there, you can get acquainted with "Weekly Sengoku" together with me... I think that's a great way to enjoy it! Look forward to seeing what kind of scoop you'll get!
◇Original work by Osaki Kozue
What is a weekly magazine? I had been thinking about this question even before I started writing "Scoop no Tamago," and it remains a challenge for me even now. I hope that this film adaptation will reveal what lies beyond that question, along with the excitement and tension of a drama.
I can already sense their extraordinary enthusiasm. The drama team is reliable! I'm looking forward to the broadcast.

When the "red thread of fate" was visualized, it was a red thread that led to the "Scoop Egg."
The original story was truly fascinating, as it made me rethink the main theme of this work, "the meaning of the existence of weekly magazines," and there are many similarities with us who work in the entertainment industry. I hope that through this work, viewers can get a sense of the joys and pains of work, and the difficulty of creating something from scratch. Please enjoy the comical and heated discussions between the unique Weekly Sengoku team, including lead actress Aoi Okuyama!
