The second episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , "Yoshiwara Hosomi 'Ahh Oedo'", will be broadcast on January 12th. From this episode, Kataoka Ainosuke will appear as Urokogataya Magobei.
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama, depicting the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have built the foundations of Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, known for "Drama 10 'Ooku'" which was broadcast on NHK two years ago and became a big hit.
Ainosuke plays Magobei Urokogataya, the owner of a local book wholesaler in Nihonbashi (now Chuo Ward) and Fukagawa (now Koto Ward), a representative Edo region, who became a pioneer of the yellow-covered picture book "Kaneka Sensei Eika Yume" for adults. He teaches Tsutaju (Yokohama) the basics of business, entrusting him with his first full-scale bookmaking job. When Tsutaju starts his bookselling business in earnest, the two become rivals and engage in a fierce battle.
"He is the mentor of the bookstore business and the industry's biggest enemy."
In the second episode, Tsutae comes up with an idea to attract people back to Yoshiwara using a guidebook to Yoshiwara called "Yoshiwara Saimin."
In order to get the Edo famous Hiraga Gennai (Ken Yasuda Ken) to write the preface for Hosomi, he goes to consult with Magobei Urokogataya, a local book wholesaler. He is told that if he can persuade Gennai himself, he will promise to publish the work, so he rushes to find him, but...
Meanwhile, inside Edo Castle, a grand banquet is being held to celebrate the birth of Toyochiyo, the eldest son of Hitotsubashi Harumori (Ikuta Toma), and members of the Gosanke family, Tanuma Okitsugu(Ken Watanabe), and others have gathered... and so the story unfolds.
