"Chihayafuru -Meguri-" viewers are moved to tears by the growth of Ami Touma, who Mone Kamishiraishi Mone, who plays "Kanade."

The sixth episode of the drama series "Chihayafuru: Meguri" (NTV, Wednesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Ami Touma, aired on August 13th. The episode featured a scene in which Meguru (Touma) from the Umezono Karuta Club encourages Kanade (Mone Kamishiraishi), who is worried about her future, which caused a stir on social media.

In episode 6, it's April, and Meguru and the other five members of the Umezono Karuta Club are now in their third year of high school. Eager to recruit new students, Meguru and the others go around the first-year classrooms in their gorgeous hakama (traditional Japanese formal kimono), fiercely promoting the appeal of karuta.

Meanwhile, Kanade's contract as a part-time teacher ends when Shima Tsuyoshi (Namioka Kazuki), a classical Japanese teacher who was on parental leave, returns to the school. She is no longer the advisor for the Karuta club, and will now support the club as a volunteer coach.

Meanwhile, Kanade meets Nakanishi Izumi (Tomita Yasuko), a full-time reader whom she admires. When Nakanishi finds out that Kanade has dropped out of school, she invites her to move to Kyoto. Nakanishi's lab has an assistant position available, so they are looking for a new assistant. For Kanade, who had always wanted to work in Nakanishi's lab, this is a dream come true. She is even offered reading lessons in between her research, and is overwhelmed, saying, "It is an honor beyond my expectations, it's too good for me."

Meguru happens to overhear their conversation. The Umezono members are shaken up, and a clash of opinions ensues over Kanade's future...

Afterwards, not wanting to be a burden to Kanade, Meguru and the others enter the individual competition to get promoted so that Kanade can go to Kyoto in peace. After the match, Kanade rushes to the venue and apologizes to Meguru and the others for worrying them, saying, "But there's no need to worry, I'm not going anywhere..." Meguru and the others show off their certificates and announce their promotion.

Meguru tells a surprised Kanade, "Don't worry, go to Kyoto. With us, you have nothing to worry about," and encourages her by saying, "The future of anyone who finds the treasure through karuta is bound to be bright, right? What will happen if that doesn't happen to you, Sensei?" Kanade is moved to tears by his words.

On social media, many people expressed their emotions at Megu's lines, with comments such as "Meguru has changed," "I can't help but cry, I can't help it," "Meguru is so grown up...," "It's impossible not to cry at this," and "Kana-chan is blessed with such a great student."
