It was revealed on December 22nd that the TV anime "ONE PIECE", based on the popular manga by Eiichiro Oda, will be broadcast on Fuji TV nationwide at 11:15 pm every Sunday from April 6th, 2025. The series has been broadcast on the same station at 9:30 am every Sunday since October 2006, but it was announced that the time slot would be changed. The 11:15 pm Sunday slot has previously been used for the TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba"'s "Entertainment District Arc" from December 2021 to February 2022, the "Swordsmith Village Arc" from April to June 2023, and the "Hashira Training Arc" from May to June 2024.
The announcement was made on December 22nd at Jump Festa 2025, held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama-ku, Chiba City).
The TV anime "ONE PIECE" began airing in October 1999, and has been broadcast on Fuji TV every Sunday at 9:30 am since October 2006. From October 20th to March 30th, 2025, a "recharging period" will begin, during which the production team will begin preparations to further improve the quality of the anime, and it will be broadcast in a new regular time slot starting April 6th, 2025. During this period, the "SPECIAL EDITED VERSION "ONE PIECE" Fish-Man Island Arc" is currently being aired.
It was also announced that Subaru Subaru Kimura will be the new voice actor for Straw Hat Crew member Franky from April 2025. Since his debut in 2005, Kazuki Yao has played Franky, but it has been announced that he will be replaced, and Kimura will take over.
"ONE PIECE" is a manga that depicts the adventures of Luffy, a young man with a straw hat whose limbs can stretch like rubber, as he and his companions journey across the open seas in an attempt to become the King of Pirates. The series began serialization in 1997 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). The total number of copies of the comics published in Japan is over 410 million, and the total number of copies published worldwide is over 510 million.
Starting in April 2025, Fuji TV will be broadcasting a completely new original anime series, "TO BE HERO X," produced by Aniplex and China's largest video site, "bilibili," every Sunday at 9:30 a.m., following "ONE PIECE." The 9:30 a.m. Sunday time slot will be a time slot where Fuji TV and Aniplex will team up to produce new anime works, with "TO BE HERO X" being the first to be broadcast.
