The eighth episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea" (Sundays at 9pm), starring actor Ryunosuke Kamiki, was broadcast on December 15th. The identity of Asako, played by Hana Sugisaki, who will marry her husband, was revealed, causing a stir on social media.

It was revealed that Asako's husband is a diner employee, Torajiro Ikegaya (Mizuki Maehara).
In the present day, Reo (Kamiki) asks Izumi, also known as Asako Ikegaya (Miyamoto Nobuko), why she married Torajiro instead of Teppei (Kamiki, playing a double role), the man she had feelings for. Izumi confides, "Because Torajiro was a sincere and kind person."
On social media, comments such as, "The moment I found out Torajiro was her husband, I thought, it's you!", "It doesn't seem like Asako married Torajiro because she was happy with it", "I wonder if Asako was happy to marry Torajiro after being betrayed by Teppei. Even though she cared for Torajiro, I think Teppei was always there in the back of her mind", "Maybe Teppei asked Torajiro to look after Asako", and "I thought, 'It's you, you bastard!' but Torajiro was probably always by Asako's side when she was hurt" were posted and became a hot topic.
There was also a scene where Izumi, wanting to see her wedding photo with Torajiro, tweeted, "Tora-san..." On social media, there were comments such as, "The scene where Izumi opened the wedding photo and lovingly tweeted 'Tora-san' made me feel relieved that her married life with Torajiro was not unhappy at all," and "I'm sure Asako had many happy times after getting married."
