It has been announced that Natsumi Eguchi, known for her popular manga "Hozuki's Coolheadedness(Hoozuki no Reitetsu)," which was also made into a TV anime, will be making her latest work, "Dekin no Mogura," into a TV anime and will be broadcast from July 2025. It was also announced that voice actor Yuichi Nakamura will play the main character, Mogura, also known as Hyakuan Momoyumi. A teaser visual and a promotional video depicting Mogura have also been released.

The series has been serialized in "Morning" (Kodansha) since April 2021. It is a supernatural comedy surrounding Mogura, a mysterious self-proclaimed sage who says, "I can't die because I'm banned from the afterlife," and those who meet him. Seven volumes of the manga have been released, and the latest volume, volume 8, will be released on November 21.

The anime will be directed by Hiroshi Ishiodori, with series composition by Shinzo Fujita, character design by Yoko Tanabe, and music by Tomoki Hasegawa. It will be produced by Brain's Base.

Nakamura commented on the appeal of the work, "It's impressive how it uses a unique method to deliver messages, interspersing comedy with stories of the supernatural and, in particular, war. Each character is strong, and the conversations are well-paced, so it's captivating to read."

Regarding his role as the Mole, he said, "I thought the most important thing was the character's sense of tension, so I felt I had to be careful about the balance (also in terms of the number of scenes they appear in and the number of lines). In anime, the pace of the lines and the flow of the scenes must be constructed by the viewer, rather than being tailored to the viewer, so a work with this amount of information seems difficult... Hyakuan has a lot of facial expressions, with bright parts, dark parts, straight-up funny parts, and serious parts, so I'm trying to find the right balance between those."

Regarding the TV anime adaptation, original author Eguchi commented, "I am very grateful. Given the subject matter it deals with, I think it's a work that people will either love or hate, but I would be happy if people could watch it in their own way. The animation staff checked every last detail, and every time we look at the detailed background settings, my assistant and I say, 'So this is what this building was like.' The voice actors and music are a perfect match, and they have captured even the subtlest nuances, so I take my hat off to their professional work. I myself am looking forward to watching it air."
