A large-scale exhibition focusing on the "pillars" of the Demon Slayer Corps, the highest-ranking swordsmen from the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba," based on the popular manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, entitled "Anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - And to the Infinity Castle," will be held at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) from November 2nd. A preview was held on November 1st ahead of the opening, and the exhibition was unveiled. This is the first time an exhibition focusing on the "pillars" has been held in the anime, and through graphics, videos, and original drawings, visitors can experience the "amazingness" of the "pillars" through their bodies, words, expressions, and dynamic movements.
The various images of the pillars drawn over the past five years of the anime are displayed in three dimensions in a large space of about 1,200 square meters and with a ceiling height of about 5 meters. The exhibition begins with "Pillars - Gathering," which shows a video of the nine pillars gathering together. The exhibition continues with "Pillars - Individuality," which introduces the breathing and trajectory of each pillar, "Pillars - Body," which features life-size panels of the pillars and objects that recreate the handles of Nichirin swords, "Pillars - Words," which introduces famous quotes from the pillars, "Pillars - Expressions," which has over 1,000 original drawings featuring the expressions of the pillars scattered throughout the space, and "Pillars - Dynamic Movement," which displays original drawings of the pillars' action scenes.
The final corner, "And to Mugen Castle," uses projections, 3D sound, floor vibrations, and wind to recreate the fall scene from the final episode of the TV anime "Pillar Training Arc," in which the pillars fall from the Ubuyashiki Mansion into Mugen Castle. In the scene where the pillars rush to the Ubuyashiki Mansion when the Master is in danger, a wind blows, making you feel as if you are heading to the Ubuyashiki Mansion with the pillars. In the scene where the pillars and other soldiers fall, the windows of Mugen Castle are projected at your feet, allowing you to experience the fall, creating a chilling sense of realism.
One of the great attractions of the exhibition is being able to hear the charm of the voices of the pillars. By using the card-shaped "pillar card" designed with an illustration of the pillars, which will be distributed as an admission bonus, you can listen to famous quotes by the voice actors in the "Pillar - Personality" and "Pillar - Words" corners. You can choose one of the nine pillars to receive your pillar card when you enter. The exhibition will be held from November 2nd to March 2nd, 2025. A "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" themed cafe will also be held at the "CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO CAFE" adjacent to the venue. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" tells the story of Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was killed by demons, joining the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a demon, back into a human. The original work was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. The comics have sold over 150 million copies in total. The TV anime "Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc" was broadcast from April to September 2019, and the movie version "Mugen Train Arc" released in October 2020 was a huge hit, grossing approximately 40 billion yen, the highest ever box office revenue in Japan. The "Entertainment District Arc" was broadcast from December 2021 to February 2022, the "Swordsmith Village Arc" from April to June 2023, and the "Hashira Training Arc" from May to June 2024. There is also buzz that the new anime "Mugen Castle Arc", which follows "Hashira Training Arc", will be produced as a trilogy of movies.
