"Omusubi" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00am and others), the NHK morning drama starring Hashimoto Kanna, will air in the second half of 2024. On November 2nd, they will look back on the fifth week, "That Day" (October 28th to November 1st). The NHK announcer Takase Kozo will be in charge of the narration.
"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" in which the heroine, born in 1989, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist, with a "gal spirit" that values her individuality at all times. It is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, known for NHK's drama "Shojiki Real Estate".
The theme song is "Illumination" by "B'z". The story will be narrated by illustrator and actor Lily Franky.
In the fifth week, when Shoya (Sano Hayato) asks Yui why she always looks so sad, Yui (Hashimoto) starts talking about her memories from when she was six years old and living in Kobe.
At that time, Masato (Kitamura Yukiya) and Aiko (Aso Kumiko) were running a barber shop, and Yui, who loved Sailor Moon, would draw pictures of her and imitate her costumes, and would have her sister Ayumu do her hair in Sailor Moon style.
However, in the early hours of January 17, 1995, Yui and her friends were hit by a big earthquake, and they witnessed their familiar home being destroyed.
A party to celebrate the Itoshima Festival is held at the Yoneda household, led by Nagayoshi (Matsudaira Ken). Yui attends along with Shoya, but Ayumu (Naka Riisa) does not attend and stays shut up in her room... and so the story unfolds.
