Visuals have been released for the musical version of "Fate/Zero," a spin-off of the popular "Fate" series of games and anime, titled "Musical Fate/Zero: The Sword of Promised Victory."
The visuals include a key visual of Emiya Kiritsugu and Saber, a group visual of all seven factions, and individual visuals of each character. It has been announced that Araki Hironori will be playing Emiya Kiritsugu, Akino Yuka will be playing Saber, Yamauchi Yuka will be playing Irisviel von Einzbern, and Tsukui Minami will be playing Hisa Maiya.
It was also revealed that the cast will include Toyama Yusuke as Tohsaka Tokiomi, Okayama Haruki as Archer, Kitazono Ryo as Kotomine Kirei, Ito Yuichi as Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald, Teruma as Lancer, Sasaki Yoshihide as Ameo Ryunosuke, Yoshida Metal as Caster, Kento as Matou Kariya, Hiramatsu Raima as Waver Velvet, and Kishi Yuji as Rider.
Araki, who plays Emiya Kiritsugu, commented, "The psychological portrayal is very deep and I enjoyed watching the anime. As a fan, I am very interested to see how the flashy action scenes will be portrayed in the stage adaptation, and I can't wait for rehearsals to begin. The entire company will work hard to express that worldview. I look forward to working with you all."
Kitazono, who plays Kotomine Kirei, said, "I am very happy to be involved in this production, and I feel that this role will make me think anew about what it means to be human. Kotomine Kirei may seem inhuman at first glance, but the more I get to know him, the more I realize he is a man of great character. I am a little scared but also excited to see what kind of scenery I will see by expressing this man's suffering and happiness through myself. I love the original work and the wonderful company, and I would like to help make the stage adaptation of "Fate/Zero" a success, so please come and experience this world at the theater."
Gen Urobuchi of Nitroplus, who worked on the novel "Fate/Zero," will be involved in the musical as script supervisor. Nishimori Hideyuki, who has worked on the "Messiah" stage series and the "Moriarty the Patriot" musical series, will be in charge of the script, direction, and lyrics, and Sakabe Tsuyoshi will be in charge of the music. It will run from January 18 to 26, 2025 at THEATER MILANO-Za (Shinjuku, Tokyo), and from January 31 to February 2, 2025 at Sky Theater MBS (Kita, Osaka).
"Fate/Zero" is a spin-off novel by Urobuchi published in 2006 as a prequel to the game "Fate/stay night," with illustrations by Takeuchi Takashi, who also worked on the game. Masters including Emiya Kiritsugu fight alongside Servants for the Holy Grail, which is said to grant the wish of whoever holds it. The TV anime series also garnered popularity, with the first season airing from October to December 2011 and the second from April to June 2012.
