TV Tokyo's popular information variety show "Appear! Ad Street Heaven" (Saturday 9pm) will feature Shin-Koshigaya (Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture) on the August 16th broadcast as the third installment of the Tobu Railway Line series.
The Minami-Koshigaya Awa Odori Festival will be held around Shin-Koshigaya Station on the Tobu Railway from August 22nd to 24th. This Awa Odori is one of the three major Awa Odori festivals in Japan, along with the original festivals in Tokushima and Koenji, Tokyo, and is usually attended by 700,000 people. The program will cover the town in the run-up to the Awa Odori festival, as well as some delicious local specialties.
Featured in the video are lightly tasting morning ramen with ginger and grated daikon radish, the hidden gem "Fuari," a popular spaghetti gras at a "large portion" restaurant in a residential area, motsuyaki (grilled offal) that was highly praised by an Australian mayor, Minami-Etsu Sour vs. Shin-Etsu Highball, and a super-cheap supermarket. The preview also introduces dango (rice dumplings) that sell 3,000 a day.
The guests are actor Takehiro Murata and model and talent Tsubasa Masuwaka. Masuwaka is from Koshigaya and will talk about her memories of when she was working part-time.
