The creditless opening (ED) video of the TV anime "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth", based on the manga by Uo Yutaka, which was also selected as the Manga Grand Prize of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, has been released on YouTube. The video plays the opening theme "Kaiju" by the band "Sakanaction", and features characters such as Rafał, Badeni, Jorenta, Hubert, Okuji, and Novak who will risk their lives to become involved with the heliocentric theory. There are also characters whose details have not yet been revealed.

The series was serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan) from 2020 to 2022. Set in 15th century Europe, it depicts people who risk their lives to study the heretical heliocentric theory. Rafał, a child prodigy, declares that he will major in theology, which was considered the most important subject at the time, in order to live up to the expectations of those around him, but he is unable to abandon his passion for astronomy, which he has been passionate about for a long time. One day, Rafal meets Hubert, a mysterious scholar who is researching a shocking "hypothesis" about the universe... This is the story.

The anime is produced by Madhouse, the studio behind "Summer Wars" and others. Sakamoto Maaya plays Rafal, a child prodigy who is allowed to skip a grade and enter university, Tsuda Kenjiro plays Novak, the examiner for heresy, and Hayami Sho plays the mysterious scholar Hubert. It airs every Saturday at 11:45pm on NHK General TV. There are 25 episodes in total.
