The drama is based on the manga " The 19th medical record Tokushige's Medical Interview" by Katsuhito Fujiya, and depicts a general practitioner who lends a helping hand to his patients' lives. This is Matsumoto's first time playing a doctor, and the cast also includes Fuka Koshiba and Mackenyu. The script is written by Aya Tsubota, who has also written the "Kounodori" series (same channel).
Yoshikazu had refused the surgery recommended by surgeon Kojiro Togo (played by Nitta) out of fear that it would affect his voice, a tool for his work. He had not spoken to his family about his illness, believing that "talking about things I have not yet sorted out will only confuse them."
One day, Yoshikazu's daughter, Kotoha (Kurazawa), entered Yoshikazu's room without permission and stared at the computer screen. When Yoshikazu arrived, Kotoha said, "I didn't look at anything. I don't know the password." Yoshikazu gently warned her, "Don't just enter without permission. There's work-related stuff on there."
Kotonoha changed the course of the conversation, saying, "Tell me. You've been feeling down lately. I understand," trying to get Yoshikazu to tell her about his health condition. However, Yoshikazu replied, "I'm getting ready for tomorrow's recording," and left the matter unaddressed.
After seeing a photo of the beach on Yoshikazu's computer, Kotoha muttered, "This is where Yoshikazu took me when I failed my entrance exams," and left the room.
In a flashback scene, Yoshikazu and Kotonoha are at the beach. "Dad, you look so cool today. Thank you," Kotonoha sobs, and Yoshikazu gently leans against her.
The two actors' acting was well received on social media, with comments such as "Tsuda is a good actor. Anna Kurasawa, who played the daughter, was also good," "The daughter wants to talk to her father," and "The beach scene with Kenjiro Tsuda's father and daughter was great."
Kurazawa-san gained attention for her role as Fujiwara no Kenko in the NHK Taiga drama "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e)" (General). Social media was buzzing with comments such as, "I thought I'd seen her somewhere before, and it turns out she was the actress who played Michinaga's second daughter in "To Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e), Shining"! She had a strong presence even in the Taiga drama!", "Anna Kurasawa is great as always," and "Anna Kurasawa, who played the daughter, had a great presence. Keep an eye out for her in the future."
