The TV anime "Chi. -About the Earth's Movement-", based on the manga by Uo Yutaka, which was also the recipient of the Manga Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 11:45 pm on October 5th. Set in 15th century Europe, the show depicts people risking their lives to study the heretical theory of heliocentrism. Madhouse, the studio behind "Summer Wars", will produce the anime. A total of 25 episodes will be broadcast in two consecutive seasons. The first episode will be the first and second episodes broadcast consecutively.

The first episode, "Shall we call it the 'heliocentrism'?", depicts the encounter between the child prodigy Rafael and the mysterious scholar Hubert. In a certain European country in the 15th century, the child prodigy Rafael is allowed to skip grades and enter a university. In order to live up to the expectations of those around him, he declares that he will major in theology, which was considered the most important subject at the time. However, he is unable to abandon his passion for astronomy, which he has been passionate about for a long time. One day, he meets an enigmatic scholar named Hubert. Hubert, who was tortured and imprisoned for touching upon a heretical taboo, was researching a shocking "certain hypothesis" about the universe.
