It has been announced that Lawson's new TV commercial, "Autumn Happy Festival," starring comedy duo Nishikigoi's Hasegawa Masaki and Watanabe Takashi, will begin airing nationwide from October 6th. The two will appear in stage costumes and will also perform Hasegawa's signature "Norinori Masanori Dance."
The new version of the Lawson commercial series currently starring actor Matsuyama Kenichi and model Orin promotes the "Autumn Happy Festival" (October 8th to 21st), in which customers can receive a designated drink for every 350 yen spent on onigiri in one transaction.
As Orin tried to explain the Happy Festival by saying, "If you buy 350 yen worth of onigiri...!", Hasegawa shouted out in his usual loud voice and pose, "You'll get tea too!!" Matsuyama, not to be outdone, shouted over him and posed the same way. When Hasegawa was overwhelmed by Matsuyama's momentum, Watanabe sharply retorted, "You're losing!", and the "Nishikigoi style" exploded.
Lawson's official YouTube channel also released the behind-the-scenes footage of the commercial. This is Nishikigoi's first appearance in a Lawson commercial, and Hasegawa was delighted, saying, "If I was shopping at Lawson three years ago and my current self appeared and said, 'In three years, you'll be in a Lawson commercial,' I probably wouldn't believe it." Watanabe also commented, "So far, appearing in the Lawson commercial is the best way to show my parents my gratitude. I'm glad that we were able to show our gratitude while we were both still alive."
In the behind-the-scenes footage, each of them answers questions such as, "What happy thing has happened to you recently?" and "What kind of autumn do you think this autumn will be?"
