It has been announced that "Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery," the first film in the theatrical film series based on the manga by Akihito Tsukushi, will be released on October 23rd. A key visual featuring Riko, Reg, Nanachi, Faputa, and Clavari has been released.
It was also announced that "Made in Abyss: The Movie - Part 1: Dawn of the Journey" and "Made in Abyss: The Movie - Part 2: Wandering Twilight" will be screened again for a limited two-week run. Part 1 will be shown from May 22nd to June 4th, and Part 2 from May 29th to June 11th. Further screenings of "Made in Abyss: The Movie - Dawn of the Deep Soul" and the second season of the TV anime "The Golden Land of the Blazing Sun" are also planned.
"Made in Abyss" depicts the adventures of a young girl, Riko, and a young robot, Reg, in the Abyss, a mysterious chasm where precious relics lie dormant. The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September 2017, the second season, "The Golden Land of the Blazing Sun," aired from July to September 2022, and the theatrical film "Dawn of the Deep Soul" was released in January 2020. The original manga series has sold over 22 million copies in total.
