It has been revealed that comedian Yasuko will be making a guest appearance as a voice actor in "Punirunzu Puni 2," the second season of the TV anime "Punirunzu." The anime is based on Takara Tomy's popular toy "Punirunzu," and Yasuko serves as its official supporter. Yasuko will play Sushirun in the 14th episode, which will air on January 12, 2025.
Regarding the offer, Yasuko said, "I was happy to be able to appear in the commercial, but at the same time, I was also able to do voice work...to be honest, I felt like I was popular (laughs). It's finally here! I'm very grateful. Yes!"
She played Sushirun and said, "It was very difficult because all my lines were just 'pu' and 'ni', but I usually just say 'hai' with just 'ha' and 'i', so when I thought about it, I thought it was the same thing (laughs). I felt like I had to change my usual cheerful 'hai' to 'puni' and do my best. It was fun. Puni!" An original short drama of the show starring Yasuko has been released on TikTok and YouTube. It has 5 episodes in total. "Punirunzu" is a toy that lets you feel as if you are touching the character directly. You raise mysterious creatures called Punirunzu. The TV anime depicts the daily lives of the Punirunzu, who love to be squished, and Yuka, an elementary school student who loves squishing. The first season aired from October 2022 to March 2023. The second season will air on TV Tokyo every Sunday at 9:15 am from October 6th.
