It has been revealed that actor Mizuki Arisa will be appearing in the drama series "Okura: Unsolved Case Investigation" (Fuji TV, Tuesdays 9pm), which will begin airing in October and will star co-stars Sorimachi Takashi and Sugino Yosuke. This will be Mizuki's first appearance in the Tuesday 9pm slot in about 22 years since the hit series "Nurse's Work," and she will play the role of Ibuse Shu, a female researcher at the forensic lab and the ex-wife of Chizuru (Sorimachi).
Mizuki commented, "I have been doing 'Nurse's Work' in the Tuesday 9pm slot for many years, so I am honored to be appearing again in a time slot that I feel very attached to. It will also be my first time acting alongside Sorimachi and Sugino, so I am very much looking forward to it and I hope it will be an exciting set."
"As this is a human mystery entertainment that tackles unsolved cases, I have the impression that I can't take my eyes off the development of each episode. I've also heard that the story will take a different turn in the second half, so I'm really looking forward to how it will unfold in the future. Among them, I will be playing Ibuse Shu, a forensic scientist and Chizu's ex-wife, so I'm looking forward to seeing how I will be involved in the story," she said.
Nakamura Shunsuke and Hirayama Yusuke have also been confirmed to appear. Nakamura will play the role of Superintendent Kase Hideo, who arbitrarily views Chizu as a rival, and Hirayama will play the role of Chizu's former colleague detective Yuki Shinichi.
"Okura: Unsolved Case Investigation" is a human mystery in which the buddy team of Showa-era detective Hidaka Chizu, played by Sorimachi, and Reiwa-era detective Fuwa Riki, played by Sugino, tackle an "okra (shelved)" case that is on the verge of becoming a cold case. It will be broadcast every Tuesday at 9 pm from October 8th, and the first episode will be extended by 15 minutes.
