It has been revealed that Daisuke Ono, the voice actor who plays the protagonist Susumu Kodai, will be in charge of the ending theme song for the second chapter, "Red Sun's Sortie," of "Yamato Forever REBEL3199," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato." Ono wrote the lyrics himself, and the song, which is in tune with Susumu Kodai's feelings, will color the world of Yamato. Ono commented, "The lyrics this time include the phrase 'reach for the star,' which literally means 'reaching out for the stars.' From there, it has come to be used more widely to mean 'striving for high goals' or 'achieving something that seems impossible.' Even though we know it will never come true, we still put our wishes on the stars. We cannot go back to the past. That is why we live in the present and move forward into the future. I put that message into the lyrics. The journey will never end, forever. I hope that this song will pass on the passion that the Yamato crew has shared up to this point to the next generation." Writer Harutoshi Fukui will be the general director of "Yamato Forever REBEL 3199," and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also be the general director of this latest work. Naomichi Yamato will be the director. There will be seven chapters in total, with the second chapter being screened from November 22nd.

The first "Space Battleship Yamato" TV anime was broadcast in 1974, and other works have also been produced, including "Space Battleship Yamato 2," "Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato: Warriors of Love," and "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection." A remake of the first work, "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," was screened in theaters from 2012 to 2014, and the sequel to "2199," "2202," was broadcast in theaters and on TV from 2017 to 2019. "2205," consisting of two chapters, was released in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
