The main visual and official trailer for Chapter 2, "Red Sun's Sortie," of "Yamato Forever REBEL 3199," the latest installment in the remake series of the popular anime "Space Battleship Yamato," have been released. The main visual is an original drawing by character designer Yuki Nobuteru, and depicts the enemy officer Alphonse, who faces off against the main character, Kodai Susumu, with "someone with blonde hair" in Alphonse's arms. The trailer shows the scene where Space Battleship Yamato finally takes off. The second movie ticket card, which comes with a poster of the main visual, has also been released.
Writer Fukui Harutoshi will serve as general director of "Yamato Forever REBEL 3199," and will also be in charge of series composition and scriptwriting. Fukui was in charge of series composition and scriptwriting for the remake series "Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love" and "Space Battleship Yamato 2205: A New Voyage," and will also be general director of the latest installment. Yamato Naomi will be the director. There are seven chapters in total, with the second chapter set to premiere on November 22nd.
The first "Space Battleship Yamato" TV anime was broadcast in 1974, and other films have since been produced, including "Space Battleship Yamato 2," "Space Battleship Yamato: Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato," and "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection." A remake of the first film, "Space Battleship Yamato 2199," was screened in theaters from 2012 to 2014, and "2202," a sequel to "2199," was screened in theaters and broadcast on TV from 2017 to 2019. "2205," the final chapter in the series, was screened in theaters in 2021 and 2022.
