The ninth episode of Fuji TV's "Monday 9" drama series "The Beginning of the Sea" (Mondays at 9pm), starring Meguro Ren of the popular group "Snow Man", will be broadcast on September 2nd.
In the previous episode... Tsukioka Natsu (Meguro) and Nagumo Kai (Izumiya Sena) visit a coffee shop to see her biological father Mizoe Motoharu (Tanaka Tetsuji), whom she hasn't seen since her parents divorced when she was young. However, Natsu is disappointed by Mizoe's words and actions and leaves the coffee shop in anger.
Later, Natsu goes to see Mizoe again. Natsu confesses her true feelings to Mizoe, which she had never been able to tell anyone before, and Mizoe tells Natsu, "If you get tired, contact me."
In the ninth episode... Natsu goes to the shopping mall with Momose Yayoi (Arimura Kasumi) and Umi. Umi takes Yayoi's hand and says, "Let's go!" Yayoi smiles and acts cheerfully, but Natsu senses something strange about her expression.
In the children's clothing section, Yayoi and Umi choose clothes for Umi together. When Umi enters the fitting room alone, the salesperson calls out to Yayoi, "Come in, mom." Yayoi is at a loss for words, not knowing what to say. Umi laughs and says, "Yayoi, you look like a mom," and Yayoi asks, "Would you be happy if I really became a mom?" Umi answers cheerfully, "Yes!"
On the way back from dropping Umi off at the Nagumo house, Natsu asks Yayoi what she wants to do about Umi. When Yayoi gives an unclear answer, Natsu tells her that Yayoi looks sad when they are together. Yayoi tries to cover it up with a polite smile. Natsu then asks Yayoi, "Do you want to break up?"... The drama is a completely original work with the theme of "parent-child love," with a script by Miku Ubukata, direction by Taiki Kazama, and production by Ken Murase, reuniting the team behind "Silent" in the October 2022 season.
