[Video] Yosuke Kubozuka x Ryuhei Matsuda W starring movie “Beyond Dimension” The Birthday “I want to hug you” movie version short PV

Three short promotional videos for the film version of "Beyond Dimensions" (directed by Toyoda Toshiaki, to be released on October 17th), starring actors Kubozuka Yosuke and Ryuhei Matsuda, were released on September 19th.

The film is director Toyoda's latest work, and in addition to Kubozuka and Matsuda, it also stars Chihara Junior, Imo Yu, Shibukawa Kiyohiko, and Higashide Masahiro. The solitary ascetic, Yamanaka Rosuke (Kubozuka), goes missing at the home of a dangerous religious leader, Ajari (Chihara Junior). Meanwhile, the mysterious assassin Niino Kaze (Matsuda) is asked by Rosuke's girlfriend, Nonohana (Imo), to search for him. Eventually, Rosuke and Niino are led by a conch horn to meet on Mount Roso, where they cross dimensions and confront each other in a cave of mirrors. What will they see as they travel from the past, present, and future, from Japan to Earth and even into space?

The ending theme is "Dakishimetai" by The Birthday, a rock band whose vocalist and guitarist was Yusuke Chiba, who passed away in 2023. "Dakishimetai" is a single released in 2017 and is a staple song that continues to be performed at live shows.

The short film PV released this time was edited by Director Toyoda himself and consists of three versions that combine footage from the film with live performance footage of The Birthday. The "Ajari and Cigar" version is set to the intro of "Dakishimetai," the "Rosuke and Niino" version is set to the first chorus of the same song, and the "Earth and Space" version is set to the third verse of the song, and includes live footage of Chiba Yusuke singing on stage.
