The popular anthology drama "Tales of the Unusual '26 Summer Special," with Tamori serving as the storyteller, will air on Fuji TV's "Saturday Premium" slot (Saturdays at 9 PM) on June 27th.
This special edition will feature four episodes: "Who is the body...?" starring Takaya Kamikawa, "Closing down the family home" starring Shuri, "I want to become an old man" in which Yuno Nagao and Satoshi Matsuo play the same character, and "Mother's Auction" starring Yosuke Sugino. This marks the first appearance and first starring role for Kamikawa, Shuri, and Nagao in the "Tales of the Unusual" series.
◇Story
[Who are the bodies...?] Veteran detective Takao Sakuraba (Kamikawa) had once again sensed a crime and visited a house. His junior colleague and section chief, Michito Kuriyama (Hiroshi Takahashi), and young detective Reiya Shindo (Kohei Higuchi) had already arrived at the crime scene. In the bedroom on the second floor, the bodies of a man and a woman lay. As Sakuraba left the bedroom, he found a bloodstained knife in the bushes. However, when he returned to the bedroom to retrieve his gloves, the woman's body, which had been there just moments before, was gone. Sakuraba was shocked by this impossible turn of events, while Kuriyama and the others were bewildered, believing there had never been a body there in the first place. Furthermore, the murder weapon and bloodstains on the stairs that they had found had vanished without a trace...
[Closing Down the Family Home] Natsume Saya (Shuri), a company employee in her 30s, has just finished the funeral of her mother, Emiko (Hinako Saeki), her only remaining family member, and is now closing down her old family home in an old apartment complex. [I Want to Be an Uncle] Eight-year-old Koharu Nuikawa (Nagao) possesses a magical costume that allows her to transform into a lifelike "uncle" (Matsuo). With the help of her younger sister, Chinatsu (Morobayashi Mei), who is two years younger, Koharu, dressed as an uncle, heads to the park. Her goal is to speak to her father, Mamoru (Kyo Nobuo), as an adult on his way home. In reality, while Mamoru dotes on his daughters, he is often cold to his wife, Satoko (Emi Kurara), a stay-at-home mother. That night, Mamoru scolds Satoko for trying to apply for a part-time job.
