Seiji Nishimura, president of Excom Global, known for "Imoto's Wi-Fi" and "Nishitan Clinic," appeared on the ABEMA variety show "I Tried Selling All My Assets," which aired on June 25th. He had his 600-tsubo (approximately 2,000 square meters) plot of land in a hot spring resort town appraised.
The program is a variety show that supports people starting a new life by following celebrities who, of their own volition, sell off all their assets and pursue new dreams. The show is hosted by Takashi Yoshimura of the comedy duo "Heisei Nobushikobushi" and Ruriko Kojima.
President Nishimura appears in "Kojiuri" (Exhibitionist Selling), a project in which he has his assets, which he considers symbolic of himself, appraised and re-examined his life. The asset he decided to have appraised this time is a vast 600-tsubo (approximately 2,000 square meters) plot of land in Niigata Prefecture, which is being revealed to the media for the first time.
President Nishimura, who went to the site with the program staff, explained that he had purchased the land with the intention of "building a villa and becoming the first man in Japan to dig a hot spring for himself," and that he had spent 130 million yen digging down to 1,000 meters, but the water that came out "smelled like kerosene. I couldn't get in it," and that it ended in a complete failure. He even obtained an analysis report for the hot spring and officially registered it as "Tsukioka Nishitan Hot Spring," but it has not been able to be used as a hot spring and has been left untouched for over a year.
President Nishimura predicted the price would be "24 million yen," adding, "I might even sell it for 20 million yen," before the appraisal by a local real estate agent began. However, the appraisal amount came to a mere "8 million yen." Shocked by the significantly lower appraisal amount, he exclaimed, "Seriously?! Was I ripped off?" But then he smiled and added, "I'm actually excited in a different way," and "It's given me lots of ideas."
