Episode 12, "The Water User," of the TV anime "MAO," based on the latest work by Rumiko Takahashi , known for manga such as " Urusei Yatsura ," "Ranma 1/2," and "Inuyasha," will be broadcast on NHK General on June 20th at 11:45 PM.
Attacked by a water shikigami, Mao is reminded of the greatest water sorcerer of the Mikage family from the Heian period, but is confused as to why that sorcerer would send an assassin. Meanwhile, Kamon infiltrates the floating temple where the Mikage family's onmyoji is said to reside and is reunited with Shiranui.
The original manga has been serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) since May 2019. Set in the Taisho era, it's a dark fantasy x time-slip mystery about Mao, an onmyoji (exorcist) who has lived for 900 years, who meets Kiyoha Nanaka, a girl who has wandered in from the Reiwa era, and together they confront a chain of curses. The anime is directed by Teruo Sato and produced by Sunrise. It will be broadcast for two consecutive seasons.
