A press conference to announce the completion of WOWOW's "Continuous Drama W: Consultant - The Man Who Writes About Death -" was held in Tokyo on June 4th, with lead actors Kentaro Ito, Fumino Kimura, and GACKT in attendance. When the topic of the sea came up at the event, GACKT confessed, "I hate the sea."
GACKT said, "I'm really afraid of the sea," and then revealed an anecdote that surprised Ito and Kimura: "I tried to overcome my fear of the sea by swimming long distances every day when I was 26. I swam long distances every day, and then I almost drowned. I drifted for seven hours. Since then, I've known I shouldn't go near the sea."
Director Hideo Nakata, who is in charge of the main production, also appeared at the event.
The drama is a dark suspense series based on the novel "The Consultant" by Im Sung-soon. Yo Izaki (played by Ito), an unremarkable man aspiring to be a mystery novelist, is dragged into a mysterious organization called "The Company" and transformed into an assassination consultant, writing "perfect assassination scenarios" that no one will notice. However, he gradually becomes entangled in an overwhelming evil and loses his escape route. This is WOWOW's first drama adaptation of a K-literature (Korean literature) work, and the directors are Nakata and Yoshinori Kobayashi, known for the "Unfair" series (Fuji TV). Kimura plays Saki Mizuhata, a beautiful manager sent by the mysterious organization "The Company" to monitor Izaki, and GACKT plays Akifumi Kurokawa, a mysterious man who drags Izaki down the path of evil.
It will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW On Demand starting June 7th at 10 PM. It will consist of 6 episodes, with the first episode being free to watch and stream.
