The synopsis for episode 8 (airing May 31st) of the TBS Sunday drama "GIFT" (Sundays at 9 PM), starring actor Shinichi Tsutsumi, has been released.
Set against the backdrop of wheelchair rugby, a parasport, the story follows Wutetsu Fumito, a genius astrophysicist played by Tsutsumi, as he searches for answers to difficult problems facing his underdog team. Through genuine emotional and physical challenges, he learns the importance of friendship and family in this story of bonds and redemption. This is a completely original story, with the script written by Tomoki Kanazawa, who has worked on Netflix dramas such as "Sanctuary" and the TV series "Who saw the peacock dance in the jungle?".

Previously, postdoctoral researcher Munakata (Yu Miyazaki), whose research on black holes was completely dismissed and suppressed by Gotetsu (Shinichi Tsutsumi), has sued Gotetsu's actions to a magazine publisher. Hitoka (Kasumi Arimura) asks Munakata to take down the article, but he says it's on the condition that Gotetsu quits the Bulls.
Around the same time, Ryo (Yuki Yamada) was unable to concentrate on practice because his doctor had told him he might have a certain illness. Furthermore, Catherine (Wan Marui) was torn between her dream of having a baby and continuing to play wheelchair rugby, and Keijiro (Kyohei Honda) was frustrated by his own performance, which was not up to par with Taniguchi's (Kanata Hosoda).
Each of them faces their own set of challenges. How will they overcome them...?
