On the May 22nd broadcast of the popular variety show "Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Fridays at 11:17 PM), viewers were buzzing about the "31-year-old woman from Tokyo" who appeared as a client.
The request concerns an incident that occurred 12 years ago, in the summer of 2014, when the client and their best friend got lost on Mount Ikoma while walking towards the Ikoma Mountain Amusement Park in Nara. The client wanted to find the parent and child who gave them a ride when they tried to hitchhike. The client said they couldn't remember anything about the person or the car that gave them a ride, leaving Detective Daigo Nagami at a loss, wondering, "What should I do?"
Later, the client appeared before Detective Nagami and greeted him with, "Nice to meet you. I'm Aimyon, a singer-songwriter." Detective Nagami was astonished, exclaiming, "Aimyon!"
Afterward, the two headed to Kintetsu Hozanji Station, where they were joined by Aimyon's close friend who had been lost on Mount Ikoma at the time. The three retraced their steps and began interviewing people, but the investigation proved difficult. They gathered more locals to talk to them, but it turned out that the road leading to the amusement park was a toll road and therefore rarely used by locals.
The investigation was back to square one, but Aimyon appealed to anyone who had experience hitchhiking or giving rides and whose stories even slightly matched ours, and the investigation continued.
On social media, comments included: "This episode is amazing," "Wow, I'm surprised," "It's Aimyon of all people," "Is it really the real Aimyon!?", "Continuing... what an unexpected turn of events," "Is the Aimyon episode going to continue?", "It's unsolved, lol," and "I hope it gets found!"
