It was revealed on May 24th that the popular TV anime "Detective Conan" (Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV) and the 23rd installment of the "Pretty Cure" series, "Detective Pretty Cure!" (ABC TV/TV Asahi), will be collaborating. Two anime series from different broadcasting stations and animation studios will cross boundaries to realize an unusual "detective" collaboration. A collaboration visual has been released showing Edogawa Conan from "Detective Conan" and Cure Answer from "Detective Pretty Cure!" striking detective poses back to back.
As a special collaboration episode, Conan Edogawa will appear in episode 18 of "Detective Precure!", "The Assemble of the Great Detectives," airing on May 31st at 8:30 AM, and Cure Answer will appear in "Detective Conan," "The Perfect Truth (Answer)," airing on June 6th at 6 PM. Advance stills from each collaboration episode have also been released. It has also been announced that collaboration merchandise will be released.
Yoshida Takeshi of Yomiuri TV, producer of "Detective Conan," commented, "It's been a year since I met producer Tada Kanako when she told me, 'Next year's Precure will be a detective.' Thinking back to that day, my heart warms. A collaboration between two works from different TV stations, production companies, and original publishers. There is no precedent, and it seemed like an impossible hurdle to overcome, but my conviction that 'this will be interesting' came first. ...I'll leave the hard adjustments that followed to your imagination (laughs). By the way, I've included a message for Precure after Next Conan's Hint, so don't miss it until the very end. I'll show you a miraculous collaboration!"

In episode 18 of "Detective Pretty Cure!", titled "Assemble of Detectives," Anna and her friends help prepare for an exhibition by glass artist Misako Shindo at the Hosho Museum. The main attraction is a glass slipper titled "The Forgotten Thing at 12," but a commotion ensues when a large number of glass slippers fly out of a box being transported on a cart. The slippers that flew out were fakes made of resin, and the real "The Forgotten Thing at 12" had disappeared during the commotion. Believing it to be the work of the Phantom Thieves, Anna and Mikuru search outside the museum for clues, and there they unexpectedly encounter Conan Edogawa, Ran Mouri, and Kogoro Mouri, who are visiting Mirai City. The Detective Pretty Cure and Conan Edogawa team up to solve the mystery and confront the Phantom Thieves.
In the "Hanamaru Truth Answer" episode of "Detective Conan," a series of jewel robberies occur in Beika Town. Ayumi, drawing parallels to the story of her favorite anime "Pretty Cure," is excited, thinking, "If the thieves show up, I'll get to meet Pretty Cure!" Conan and the Junior Detective League are assigned to guard Kaneko Jewelry Store, rumored to be the next target. After tailing a suspicious customer and discovering the date of the crime and the hideout, the police seem to have rounded up the thieves, but Ayumi notices something odd.
The motif of "Detective Precure!" is "detective," and the theme is "seeing, feeling, and thinking for yourself to find the 'real' answer." The main characters are girls who work as detectives with the desire to "help people in need," and guided by a mysterious power, the main character time-slips from the present day of 2027 to 1999. A story of new encounters, friendships, and growth for the Precure across time is depicted. It is currently airing every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi.
"Detective Conan" is a popular manga series by Gosho Aoyama, serialized in the manga magazine "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan). It depicts the adventures of elementary school detective Conan Edogawa as he solves one difficult case after another. It airs every Saturday at 6 PM on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV.
