Competitive eater Azuki Moeno known as "Moeazu," will be a guest on the TOKYO MX talk show "Savanna Takahashi's Sauna God" (every other Saturday at 6 PM), airing on May 16th. She will chat with MC Shigeo Takahashi of "Savanna" while enjoying a sauna at "Jujo-yu" in Kita Ward, Tokyo.
Inside the sauna, the conversation turned to health management, something only a competitive eater like her could do. "I don't want to die, and I can't continue working if I'm not healthy," she said, explaining that she never misses her annual medical checkup. Regarding the results, she revealed that she is in perfect health, saying, "They're all great, I always get A grades. They even tell me my gastroscopy results are really good."
Since childhood, her dream was to be an idol, and after graduating from university, she joined a group produced by Tsunku♂. One day, she was caught eating a large amount of food during a lunch break at a live performance, and Tsunku♂ organized an eating contest. When she won, Tsunku♂ encouraged her, saying, "You're a god! You should appear on the real thing," and she began appearing on eating contest shows. "I thought that if I stood out, the other members and their parents might be happy, so I changed my motivation and became incredibly strong," she reveals, sharing the story behind the birth of the eating queen.
As her work related to competitive eating increased, she sometimes couldn't participate in her main job as an idol. "I really want to be an idol, but nobody knows I'm an idol," she said, and it was Tsunku♂ who saved her from this dilemma and gave her the words that she still lives by today.
