Actor Kohei Shoji recently appeared at a press conference held at TV Asahi (Minato-ku, Tokyo) for the drama "The Cheated Husband with 3 Months to Live" (Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions), which starts on April 24th. Shoji, who is 188 centimeters tall, spoke about the "problems that come with being tall."
The drama is an adaptation of a vertical-scrolling manga by Webtoon studio "SORAJIMA," which has surpassed 100 million views in Japan. It is a revenge love suspense story in which Aoi (Jin Shirasu), who has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor and given a limited time to live, discovers his wife Mizuki's (Hinako Sakurai) infidelity and goes on a quest for revenge to protect the future of his beloved son. Shoji plays Iwasaki, a junior colleague who looks up to Aoi.
Since the theme of the work is "a battle to protect what is important," when asked what he himself wants to protect, Shoji replied, "My waist." "I'm 188 centimeters tall, but I'm not very bulky, so I think the center of the human body is the lower abdomen and waist, but I've had back pain since high school... I'm also affected by low pressure systems, so the upcoming rainy season is a scary time for me. When I think about the future, I want to take care of my waist," he said.
Then, Hinako Sakurai, who is knowledgeable about body shaping, analyzed, "She's probably supporting her body with her hips." Shoji then asked Sakurai to teach him about body shaping and strength training.
Shirasu, Yua Shinkawa Yua, and Takahashi Mitsuomi also appeared at the press conference.
