Actress Yua Shinkawa recently attended a press conference at TV Asahi (Minato-ku, Tokyo) for the drama "My Cheating Husband with 3 Months to Live" (Fridays at 11:15 PM, excluding some regions), which starts on April 24th. She lamented the recent rise in prices.
The drama is an adaptation of a vertical-scrolling manga by Webtoon studio "SORAJIMA," which has surpassed 100 million views in Japan. It is a revenge love suspense story in which Aoi Kosaka (played by Shirasu), who has been diagnosed with a malignant tumor and given a limited time to live, discovers his wife Mizuki's (played by Sakurai) infidelity and goes on a quest for revenge to protect the future of his beloved son. Shinkawa plays Mari Fujino, Aoi's colleague at work who has a painful past. Shirasu, Sakurai, Kohei Shoji, and Mitsuomi Takahashi also appeared at the press conference.
In keeping with the film's theme of "a battle to protect what is important," when asked about "what she herself wants to protect," Shinkawa replied, "It has many meanings, but it's 'my current life'." She then added, "Prices are so high!" to which Shirasu agreed, "That's quite a serious matter... (laughs). But they really are expensive, aren't they?"
Shinkawa lamented, "I used to think that something would cost around 5,000 yen at the supermarket, but now it's 7,000 yen or more. The prices have gone up surprisingly fast." She continued, "There are times when I want to enjoy eating out with my family, but I've reduced the frequency of that," revealing that she has also started to eat out less. She added with determination, "I want to protect this lifestyle. There may be some things I can't do on my own, but I want to protect (my current lifestyle)."
In 2019, Shinkawa married a non-celebrity man. She revealed that her husband was a location bus driver, which became a topic of conversation as a "location bus marriage." In 2023, she announced the birth of her first child.
