The second episode of the drama series "Borderless ~Wide Area Mobile Investigation Team~" (TV Asahi, Wednesdays at 9pm), starring actress Tao Tsuchiya and Shori Sato of the popular group "timelesz," aired on April 15th, and it has been revealed that the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region) was 7.3% for households and 4.2% for individuals.
This new police drama will air in TV Asahi's traditional "Wednesday 9pm" time slot, which has produced shows like "Aibou," "Tokuso9," and "Keiji 7-nin." It is a completely original work with a script by Ryoichi Kimizuka, who also wrote the "Odoru Daisousasen" and "Kyojo" series (both on Fuji TV). The story follows the exploits of seven detectives with troubled pasts in a mobile investigation unit, a "speeding investigation headquarters in a truck" that the National Police Agency has decided to operate on a trial basis.
Tsuchiya plays Momoko Nakazawa, a female detective who usually appears unmotivated at work but is actually passionate, while Sato plays Tsubomi Kizawa, a bright and positive young detective. The cast also includes Eiji Yokota, Kotaro Tanaka, Yuuka, Yoshihiko Inohara, and Kinya Kitaoji.
In episode 2, a gun murder occurs in Tokyo. For some reason, the suspect crosses the river and turns himself in to a police station in Kanagawa Prefecture. Momoko (Tsuchiya) and the wide-area mobile investigation unit are dispatched to investigate a crime that crosses prefectural borders. In the No. 2 vehicle, a "mobile interrogation room vehicle" driven by Tsubomi (Sato), they begin interrogating the suspect, Kunieda (Nomaguchi Toru), but Kunieda repeatedly changes his statements, disrupting the investigation. Under the direction of their chief, Akase (Inohara), they uncover Kunieda's past, and his true motives begin to become clear...and so the story unfolds.
