Ryota Miyadate of the popular group "Snow Man" made a surprise appearance on April 11th at a preview screening of the second episode of his starring drama "If I Fell in Love with a Terminator" (Saturdays at 11 PM) held at TV Asahi's headquarters in Minato Ward, Tokyo, along with Asami Usuda, who plays the heroine. The assembled fans erupted in screams of delight. The event allowed attendees to watch the second episode, which would air that evening, ahead of time, and Miyadate and Usuda's appearance was a surprise to the audience as it had not been announced beforehand.
The two appeared after the screening of the second episode. When Miyadate asked, "What did you all think?", a huge round of applause erupted, and he smiled, saying, "That's the most wonderful thing to hear."
The first episode has become a hot topic, ranking number one on TVer's drama rankings. Miyadate, who is starring in a drama series for the first time, said he was nervous until the first broadcast, wondering how it would be received. He added, "I'm relieved to have received such a positive response, ranking number one. However, it's only the second episode, so I hope that many more people will spread the word so that everyone can enjoy it even more."
The drama is a sci-fi romantic comedy depicting the love story between Tokizawa Eita (Miyadate), an android who comes from 400 years in the future to protect the heroine who is being targeted by someone, and Kamio Kurumi (Usuda), a heroine in her late thirties.
