The long-running variety show "Welcome, Newlyweds!" (ABC TV/TV Asahi, Sundays at 12:55 PM), hosted by Takashi Fujii and Sakura Inoue, will feature a ballet dancer husband who was the ex-boyfriend of the wife and once dumped her, and the wife who, after being dumped, relentlessly worked on herself and went on to win the world's number one Mrs. pageant.
The couple lives in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture. The staff visited the ballet studio run by the husband. The husband is a former professional ballet dancer with 27 years of experience, and currently teaches about 50 students, from children to adults. After graduating from high school, he went to Russia alone, studied at a vocational school, and then joined the Russian State Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Company. At the time, he was the only Japanese man in the company. He also has the experience of performing in front of President Putin.
Meanwhile, his wife placed in the top 10 at the Miss Japan pageant in 2020, and in 2023, she represented Japan at the Mrs. World pageant, where she was crowned champion among 50 representatives from various countries.
The two met 15 years ago, when they were high school students. The wife went to an outdoor ballet performance, which was only held during the summer, to help out, and that's when she encountered her husband. As they talked, they grew closer and eventually started dating. He carried her down the stairs in his arms like a princess, and they watched the sunset together... They went on dates like something out of a shojo manga, and for the wife, it was such a passionate romance that "there wasn't a day that didn't make her heart flutter."
My wife still cherishes mementos from that time. Tickets to her husband's ballet performances, movie ticket stubs they saw together, and even items from their "youthful indiscretions." In addition to a shirtless photo of her husband, there's even a photo booth picture of him hugging her from behind and fondling her breasts while she closes her eyes seductively.
However, that happiness didn't last long. After graduating from high school, her husband went to Russia to study ballet. They were in a long-distance relationship, and his wife believed him when he said, "I'll be back in a year, so please wait for me." But a year later, her husband passed an audition in Russia and started his professional career there. When he told her, "I can't come back to Japan," his wife couldn't accept it and called him many times, crying, but in the end, he broke up with her.
His wife was heartbroken for about a year. However, she eventually vowed, "When we meet again someday, I want to make sure he says I've become beautiful," and she became obsessed with beauty. She read beauty books, researched what beauty is online, and stoically continued to refine herself through cleansing, moisturizing, sunscreen, stretching, drinking two liters of water a day, and so on. That frustration eventually led her to become "the best in the world."
Meanwhile, her husband, who one might expect to be solely focused on ballet in Russia, apparently also had a romance with a Russian woman. After 10 years of going their separate ways in Japan and Russia, the catalyst for their fate to move forward again was a single comment from the wife's mother. While watching Russian news, the wife was asked, "I wonder if the guy you dated in high school is still alive?" So she searched for her husband's name on Instagram. Gathering her courage, she sent him a direct message, and it turned out that her husband was back in Japan at the time, leading to the decision to meet.
For the wife, the opportunity had finally arrived. She did everything she could—teeth whitening, manicure, hair salon—before their reunion. When her husband finally met her, he simply said, "You look beautiful." The wife inwardly pumped her fist in triumph, thinking, "I won."
They started keeping in touch again, and one day the husband confessed, "Let's get back together properly." The wife replied, "He's the man who made me cry the most in my life, so he has to make me the happiest!" Their "rekindled love" after 10 years was fulfilled, and they tied the knot in August 2023.
After getting married, the couple entered the world Mr. & Mrs. beauty pageant together. The husband came in 5th place, and the wife won, earning them the title of "the most beautiful couple in the world." The video also shows the couple attempting a ballet lift, something the wife had always dreamed of doing, as part of their newlywed life. At first, they had trouble getting the timing right, but in the end, they pulled it off perfectly.
