Akiko Matsumoto's son, company employee Ryusei Hirai, will appear on the 3-hour special of the talk variety show "Odoru! Sanma Goten!!" (Nippon Television Network) airing at 7 PM on April 7th.
The show featured three segments: "The Strongest Second Generation Parent-Child Visit," "Rare Surnames vs. Common Surnames," and "An Advice Session for People with Glasses." When discussing how parents deal with their children's "boyfriends," former Japan national soccer team player Go Kitazawa and his daughter Riyo revealed that she tells her boyfriends, "I'm going to punch them in the face first," which had MC Akashiya Sanma roaring with laughter.
The parents, watching from another room, were on edge, saying things like, "It's terrifying," and "I'm more nervous than if I were on the show myself." Matsumoto was stunned when Hirai mentioned his girlfriend. The preview video for the show shows him confessing, "I'm living with my girlfriend," and Matsumoto reacting with a surprised "What?!"
