It has been revealed that the final arc of the TV anime "Golden Kamuy," based on the manga by Satoru Noda, will begin this winter. The story of "the northern lands in search of gold" will come to an end. A teaser visual depicting the runaway train has also been released.
"Golden Kamuy" is a manga series that was serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha) from 2014 to 2022. It depicts the adventures of "Immortal Sugimoto," a former hero of the Russo-Japanese War, who finds clues to buried treasure hidden by a death row inmate in Hokkaido and embarks on an adventure with an Ainu girl and others. The series has sold over 30 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2018, the second season from October to December of the same year, and the third season from October to December 2020. The fourth season began airing in October 2022, went on hiatus from November onwards, but resumed airing in April 2023 and continued until June of the same year. The final chapter began airing in January.
