An event called "Traitor Summit" for the TBS Sunday drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm), starring actor Ryohei Suzuki, was held in Tokyo on March 17th. When fifth-grader Ko Yazaki, who plays Takumi Hayase, the son of Riku Hayase (who has been rebooted by Gido, played by Suzuki), appeared holding the hand of Erika Toda, who plays Ichika (who has been rebooted by her mother Natsumi), cheers of "So cute!" and other exclamations were heard.
Yazaki is an 11-year-old from Kyoto Prefecture, born on June 17, 2014. Her special skill is soccer. She said she came from Kyoto that day, and when the host asked her, "Do your friends at school talk about (the drama)?", Yazaki replied, "Yes. Ever since the first episode aired, they've been saying, 'Hey, reboot!'" Due to her age, she left at 8 p.m., and sent a message saying, "I would be happy if you could watch it in real time until the final episode."
Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who wrote the script, said he started thinking about this story about three years ago, and explained the concept behind it: "This time, I wanted to depict family love, to write about the ultimate form of family love. I myself had wanted to write about impersonation, or a life where someone becomes someone else, so I combined those elements and gradually shaped the story."
The event, which attracted 1200 people, featured Suzuki, Toda, Yazaki, and Kuroiwa, as well as Ren Nagase from the popular group "King & Prince" who plays Fuyuhashi, and Takeya Tsukaji from the comedy duo "Drunk Dragon" who plays Kikuchi, a subordinate of Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura). The event will be available for paid streaming until the 31st.
