The drama series "PUNCH-DRUNK WOMAN - XX Days Left Until Prison Break" (NTV, Sunday 10:30 pm) starring actress Ryoko Shinohara has released the synopsis and stills for the 7th episode, which will be broadcast on March 8th.
"They took Suzu hostage and threatened me with taking the blame for my father's murder." Kozue Fuyuki (Shinohara), a prison guard at Hikawa Detention Center, finds a bag belonging to Reiji Kusaka (Jesse Kusaka), the suspect in his father's murder, in a storage room. Inside is 100 million yen in cash and a USB drive that provides evidence that Haruomi has been giving illicit funds to politicians.
Was Reiji framed for a crime he didn't commit and attempting to escape from prison all to protect his sister Suzu (Kajiwara Kanagisa)? Learning that Suzu is in danger, Kozue searches for her whereabouts.
Who is the mastermind who threatened Reiji and framed him for the crime? Who is the real culprit who killed Haruomi? After learning the truth, Kozue finally goes astray.
The drama is an original story inspired by a true story from overseas, in which a female prison guard helped a male inmate escape and ran away with him. The script is by Yoshihiro Izumi, who has worked on "Laughing Matryoshka" and other works, and the director is Tsuyoshi Nakakuki, who has worked on "The Unforgettable 'I'" and "Secret Mitsuko-san," and Seiichi Nagumo, who has worked on "Waru" and "The Reluctant Preacher."
