It has been revealed that Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli, the protagonists of the anime "Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure," based on the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki's popular manga series "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure," "Steel Ball Run," will appear on the cover of the special edition of issue 2487 of the magazine "anan" (Magazine House), which goes on sale on March 11th. The newly drawn cover illustration has been released, and shows the two with sharp, powerful expressions, expressing the hope they find in the Steel Ball Run, a horse race across North America, and their determination to reach the finish line.
The issue's special features include interviews with the production staff and cast. Sakata Shogo, who plays Johnny, and Yohei Azakami, who plays Gyro, appear in styling that evokes the world of the series, exuding a jockey-like and aristocratic feel. Kaito Ishikawa, who plays Diego Brando, who participates in the races alongside Johnny and Gyro, and Kenta Miyake Kenta and Rie Takahashi, who play race promoter Stephen Steele and his wife Lucy, also appear and talk about their thoughts on their characters and the appeal of the series.
We conducted a long interview with Yasuko Kobayashi, who is in charge of the series composition for all of the "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" anime series. She talks about how to enjoy JoJo as an anime, what she pays particular attention to, and how she approaches the work in a way that only someone who has worked on the series for many years can talk about.
The appendix is a special sticker featuring an original illustration of Johnny and Gyro. The sticker was created in a ratio close to the golden ratio (1:1.618) that appears in the work.
"Steel Ball Run" is set in late 19th century America and follows the first-ever transcontinental horse race in human history (the SBR Race). Johnny Joestar, a former genius jockey who is now partially paralyzed, teams up with the mysterious outlaw Gyro Zeppeli to embark on a grueling adventure (race). The series will be available worldwide exclusively on Netflix from March 19th.
