It has been announced that up-and-coming miniature artist Mozu has produced a brand new stop-motion animation, "Pop Pup Polters," which will begin airing as a TV anime series this autumn on TV Asahi. Mozu is an artist who specializes in creating intricate miniatures that are full of the warmth of everyday life. The works he created while he was in high school attracted attention on social media, and in the same year his self-produced stop-motion animation, "Out of Order," won the Grand Prize in the JAPAN Youth category at Digicon6, one of Asia's largest film festivals. "Pop Pup Polters" is Mozu's first time directing an anime TV series.
"Pop Pup Porters" is an original anime that depicts the daily lives of Pop, Pup, and Porta, three little ghost brothers who live in the walls of a house. It is produced by MOZU STUDIOS, a production studio led by Mozu. A teaser visual and teaser PV featuring the three ghost brothers have been released.
Mozu commented, "This work was born from the idea of how fun it would be to have a little friend at home. I think I've been able to portray a being I've always fantasized about - not a pet, not a family member, but something that you can't help but feel warm and protective of. Also, as I'm active as a miniature artist, I handcrafted each and every one of the houses the ghosts live in. I hope you enjoy watching over the lives of these little ghosts who coexist harmoniously with humans!"
