It has been announced that as the fourth special gift for moviegoers of the film version of "The Dangers in My Heart," based on the popular TV anime "The Dangers in My Heart" currently being serialized on Akita Shoten's manga site "Champion Cross," a Polaroid-style card featuring an original illustration by animation director Takehisa Segawa will be given away from March 6th. The illustration features Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada striking adorable poses in a classroom.
It was also announced that a stage greeting will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo) on March 14th. Hina Yomiya , who plays Anna Yamada , Megumi Han Han, who plays Moeko Sekine, Jun Fukuyama, who plays Imaginary Kyotaro, and TV Asahi producer Jun Fukuyama Endo will be on stage to talk about behind-the-scenes stories and their thoughts on the film.
"The Dangers in My Heart" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten) in 2018 and is currently being serialized in Champion Cross (same publisher). It is a youthful romantic comedy about Ichikawa Kyotaro, an introverted boy in the midst of his chuunibyou syndrome, and Anna Yamada, a beautiful, outgoing girl at the top of the school's social hierarchy. It has gained popularity, having been ranked in the men's section of "This Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021, and winning first place in the web manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2020 in 2020. The comic has sold over 7 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023, and the second season from January to March 2024 on TV Asahi's late-night anime slot "NUMAnimation." The movie version is composed of re-edited footage from the TV anime, as well as all-new footage of what happens "after" the second season and "that moment between Ichikawa and Yamada." It was released on February 13th.
